50 cent was born in Queens, New York City

50 Cent was born Curtis James Jackson III on July 6, 1975 in Queens, New York City. He grew up with a single mother near Jamaica. His mother, a drug dealer, died in an unexplained fire when Jackson was eight. After her death, he was raised by his grandmother.
